Our People

We believe in building a strong, flexible and collaborative team. The whole is definitely greater than the sum of the parts here and we are all working to increase our individual skill sets to support the team as a whole.

Angelique

We hired Angelique as an Instructional Designer…the fact that she speaks Dutch and can drive a forklift is just icing on the cake. Angelique is one of those types that sits quietly and absorbs everything around her…and then zings you with it when you least expect it. Fun times.

Bill

Bill is an Instructional designer here, but he used to be a bounty hunter…at least we think he stopped doing that. In any case, Bill eagerly picks up all challenges and brings all he’s got to solve them. He also makes cookies for us on Friday afternoons in our company kitchen. Sweet!

Chris

As New Media Director, Chris is charged with making everything we do better than awesome. His design skills are off the hook, which makes us very forgiving of his constant defense of the authenticity of BigFoot photos. Plus, he can juggle, which we are hard at work trying to incorporate into our service offering.

Chris Gore

When he is not geeking out over his freshly built monome (what the heck?), Chris is our resident Flash Master. While our clients are not all that impressed with his slammin’ air hockey skills, his mad skills in technical illustration and Flash make him the darling of their eyes…even if they have never met him.

Steven

New Media Guru. Nuff said. Ruby on Rails, PHP, SQL, ActionScript, Open Source, whatevah, Steve can even make an Excel document sing Ave Maria (though we are pretty sure it would be a metal version of the hymn). When he gets bored with motion graphics, databases and web development, he hacks his iPhone and recodes it to be more efficient.

Cindy

As a Project Manager with Obsidian, Cindy approaches every project with a “let’s see if we can get that into a spreadsheet” spirit. This is fortunate since few of our projects are simple anymore. When she is not managing projects for Obsidian, Cindy is designing clothing in SecondLife and charming the socks off people, live and virtual.

Jeanne

Jeanne makes us want to hand in our expense report on time, which is a handy feature in an accountant. We often hear her contagious laugh from down the hall, and she makes sure to hug each of us every day. We’d all get excited about seeing her, even if she did not control our pay. No seriously. We would.

Joel

Stretch is his last name and a description for this project manager. Joel works to surf…which is better than surfing to work, in so many ways. His laid back style carries the day when things are heating up, but he knows how to tree a squirrel too when it needs doin. And that is not a quaint Texas euphemism…he knows how to tree a squirrel.

Kika

We performed a daring rescue to get Kika out of the basement of a company downtown. We are pretty sure they are fit to be tied about now. Kika takes care of our office and us, and as you may have ascertained by now that is not an easy job. But she does it somehow, dancing and singing along the way. Like, for real, she dances and sings in the office. How does your office manager entertain you?

Kimberley

As strategist, Kimberley is passionate about innovation. And by that we mean she’s literally in love with it. She wants to marry it. She advocates for the latest and greatest in approach and technology on every project and challenges our love for predictability. Ultimately, she helps us get the best stuff out of our team and our client's resources and is a huge part of why our deliverables are so distinctively ours.

Lubos

Lubos was hiding out in a project analyst role until we found out what a creative spark he is. Now we get him involved in all kinds of client projects. Lubos comes to us from the downhill slopes of Slovakia, where we can only assume there is something in the water there that made him so creative. Have to wonder though if that same water made him so addicted to drinks like Kombucha.

Micheline

Mich is totally alpha project manager. She is seriously compulsive about learning, which means she is qualified to do any number of things. We have to keep tripping her up with new challenges to keep her excited. She has two teeny yorkies and a giant master brewer of a husband. And, just between you and me, we think Mich may be a biker chick.

Monica

Monica has a fancy title, VP of Operations, which really means she has to support everybody. This is not small task. We needed someone who enjoyed thankless and exhausting work…and Monica walked through the door. She is a chemistry geek, big time, and once was a flight attendant for Michael Jackson. Yeah, that one. Oh, and she is from Romania, Transylvania specifically. I know. Cool, huh?

Peggy

If you can get past the fact that her favorite movie is Sound of Music, you will find Peggy is actually a really fascinating person. Her fast-paced agency background makes her ideally suited for the multi-client, multi-project operation we are running here. Oh, and one of her bones was replaced with a Titanium one…so, we figure she is kind of bionic.

Roslyn

Roslyn really wants what’s is in your best interest…just so happens that she really believes it is in your best interest to hire us to do something for you. That fervent belief fuels Roslyn’s endless sales calls and insistence that “no” just means “not yet.”

Shelly

Many years ago Shelly figured out that she really really liked the work she was doing…and she really really liked the people she worked with…but she did not like her working conditions. So, she created her own company…the place she wanted to work. We like it too. Not bad for a small town ranch girl, sci-fi fantasy book addict.

Susan

Susan is tricky. If you start a conversation with her, you will soon find yourself doing all the talking. So naturally, she interviews people for a living. Our Talent Manager loves old movies and long walks on the beach. And she has extreme skills in finding the needle in the haystack in the world of talent. Which is really more to the point, right?

Tiffany

We have never seen Tiffany in sneakers. She even wears heels for picnics. But this is not why we hired her. As an Instructional Designer, Tiffany is quickly earning her stripes in Rapid Development. What she doesn’t know is that she is also a test subject for us in what makes a Gen Y tick. By observing her every day in a natural work habitat, we are gaining invaluable knowledge.

Tina

Tina is secretly the president of Obsidian. You would never know it if you walked into the office or into one of our meetings. Tina works in the trenches on actual projects to maintain her edge in the field. And we have all come to rely on her eerily correct predictions on industry (as well as national) trends. She is probably the most mischievous of the bunch of us and really keeps us on our toes. And she can write a mean rap song.

Tom

Tom is the other half of the ownership team and also married to Shelly incidentally. We mostly can hear Tom’s laugh before we know he is in the building…it is very, um, distinct. When he is not working, you might catch Tom acting in plays around town or playing Lacrosse. This boy just cannot sit still.

Vicki

Vicki creates. Whether it is throwing pots or designing instructional interactions, Vicki takes it on as art and makes it so. As our Senior Instructional Designer, Vicki is always looking for a better way of doing things. More interesting twist on the content…better use of interactions…smoother flow on the design. Vicki just makes it sing.
